Life Long Learning meets and moves forward with LLL Lodge

Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T Life Long Learning and Regional Office – Pinaymootang met at the Pinaymootang Conference Centre and by conference call to discuss its next steps. The group reviewed their current work plan and conferred on ideas for a future work plan.

Currently, Life Long Learning is creating a Life Long Learning Lodge that will be based in the center of Treaty 2 territory, Dauphin and expand its operations to Pinaymootang in the near future. Ideas were shared by staff on how to proceed with the development of the lodge. To date, the lodge has been offering various workshops to groups and local Nations across Treaty 2 territory including the history of Treaty 2. These workshops have been well-received by participants and requests continue to be made to FNT2T. We are very excited about the future of the Life Long Learning Lodge at 19 Memorial Blvd, Dauphin.

Also discussed by the group was FNT2T education. A shared vision of many Local Nations is for young people to be well-educated in their history, entrenched in their culture and language, and knowledgeable of their inherent and treaty rights. Our Local Nations are doing this important work and it’s important to the FNT2T to support that work as much as possible in a good way.

Staff shared ideas in programming, workshops, and deliverables around language, culture, and history. The group will be meeting with the FNT2T Knowledge Council and FNT2T Life Long Learning Committee to review and dialogue on suggested next steps in Life Long Learning.
