A Resource for Former Youth-In-Care

Good Day. There was a recent announcement of a new fund resource for Former Youth-In-Care which is being offered by Voices: Manitoba Youth in Care Network. The grant was provided to Voices by the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada. It was created to help former youth-in-care (ages 18-30) access emergency financial support during this unprecedented time of covid-19.

Former youth-in-care can apply for up to $500 from the support fund. The fund can help for things such as rent, utilities, winter gear, groceries, hygienic products, protective gear (ie. masks), bedding, bus pass, cleaning supplies, and possibly a phone to remain in contact with loved ones. The fund does not cover debt expenses. It is possible for some applicants to receive funds once per month until pandemic conditions improve.

Those who may be eligible can contact Voices: Manitoba Youth In Care Network for more information on applying: 3rd Floor, 61 Juno Street, Winnipeg, Phone# 204-982-4956, Toll-Free# 1-866-982-4956, ask@voices.mb.ca
